Applied Informatics - a modern programme for your future
Do you want to understand how computers, networks, mobile applications or artificial intelligence work - and put this knowledge into practice? The Applied Informatics study programme at FPV UCM offers you a broad education in the field of computer science, complemented by mathematics, economics and management fundamentals, so that you are prepared not only for IT practice, but also for the challenges of the real world.
What will you learn?

Design and program software applications,

understand computer architecture, operating systems and computer networks,

work with databases, programming languages and information security tools,

model systems, process and visualise data,

use modern approaches such as artificial intelligence, neural networks and data mining.
In addition to the compulsory courses, you can also choose specialised courses to gain skills in:

A graduate of the Applied Informatics programme will have the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will enable him/her to work in a team, develop and implement modern IT solutions and to find a job in industrial enterprises, scientific research centres, service institutions, as well as in the field of business.
Where will you find a job after Applied Informatics?
Graduates of the bachelor's programme in Applied Informatics find employment in practically all areas of society. Most of them work in sectors such as:

Information and communication technologies,

industrial production,

transport and logistics,

wholesale and retail.
The most common professions of our graduates include:

Application programmers,

systems analysts,

software developers,

Database and computer network specialists.
Interestingly, as many as 46% of graduates go on to study at a second level - most often in computer science or related technical and natural science programmes.
Requirements for applicants, method of selection and recommended personal qualities
Number of students admitted to the study programme: 80 (full-time form) / 50 (part-time form)
The basic condition for admission to the bachelor's programme is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (Section 56(1) of Act No 131/2002 Coll. on higher education and on amendment and supplementation of certain acts).
The admission procedure takes place without an entrance examination.
For admission to the bachelor's degree programme, data on the applicant's studies at secondary school will be decisive. More information here.
The full-time form of study in the study programmes is conducted by the full-time method.
The same methods are used for the full-time form of study as for the part-time form of study.
