The faculty is managed by the dean, who is appointed for a four-year term and dismissed by the rector. He controls it and represents it externally. He is responsible for his activities to the academic senate of the faculty.

The dean is represented by vice-deans, the secretary and other persons to the extent determined by a special decision of the dean or internal UCM regulations. Method vLegal status, legal definition of competences and dean's powers are regulated by the relevant provisions of the Act on Higher Education and the Statute of UCM and UCM statute.

The dean is responsible to the rector of the UCM for his activities in matters in which he acts on behalf of the UCM, for the management of the faculty and for his further activities to the extent determined by special internal regulations of the UCM.
