Evaluation of the questionnaire survey on graduate satisfaction with study programs at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, UCM

Between August 1 and 15, 2025, FPV UCM conducted an evaluation of the quality of study programs by graduates. The evaluation included graduates of all FPV UCM study programs, analyzing only the responses of graduates who completed their studies in 2025.

Of the total number of 99 graduates contacted, 8.08% participated in the survey, which represents a significant decrease compared to 50.42% in the previous academic year.

Despite the limited sample size, it can be concluded that most respondents found employment or continued their studies after graduation. The questionnaire did not record any unemployed respondents. The highest level of satisfaction with their studies was expressed by graduates of the Biotechnology and Applied Chemistry programs, with 87% of respondents declaring overall satisfaction with their studies.

The open-ended responses from graduates provided several suggestions for improvement in selected study programs at FPV UCM:

  • strengthening opportunities for students to participate in internships and professional placements,
  • improving the control and selection of supervisors, especially in doctoral studies,
  • expanding practical teaching in selected subjects and laboratory exercises,
  • improving the availability of certain study materials.

Specialized subjects, the individual approach of teachers, and the overall atmosphere of the faculty were evaluated positively. Some graduates explicitly appreciated the expertise of the teachers and the knowledge they gained during their studies.

The final recommendations of the report emphasize the need to increase the return rate of questionnaires and to consider returning to their implementation at the faculty level, where higher participation and more relevant results were achieved in the past.

We would like to thank all graduates who participated in the evaluation and provided feedback. Their opinions are an important source of information for improving study programs and for the future development of the faculty.
