Evaluation of the questionnaire survey of satisfaction of male and female students with study programmes at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, UCM

An evaluation of the quality of study programmes was conducted by students throughout the University of St. Cyril and Methodius from 02-30.04.2025. The questionnaire was intended for all students studying at the Faculty of Science of UCM at all levels of study.

Out of the total number of 374 students, 234 students expressed their opinion on the quality of study programmes, courses as well as teachers of these courses, which is 62.6%. On the basis of such a high percentage, it is already possible to draw conclusions and make recommendations for the following evaluation of the quality of study programmes

The results of the survey processed by the Vice-Dean for Science and Quality were discussed at the College of the Dean of FPV UCM on 25.06.2025 and at the individual Councils for Study Programmes.

The responses obtained provide valuable insight into students' perceptions of the quality of teaching, support from teachers, the structure and content of study programmes, as well as the availability of infrastructure and services.

Satisfaction was prevalent in the area of teaching and guidance from teachers. More than 69% of the students appreciated the professional and individual approach of the lecturers, while support for final papers, consultations or learning the material was rated as a strength of the faculty. Similarly, the opportunity to engage in creative activities was also rated positively.

Study programmes such as Environmental Protection and Restoration, Biotechnology and Applied Informatics also recorded high levels of satisfaction. Conversely, slight fluctuations were found in some Master's programmes. In these cases, further analysis will be carried out by the Degree Programme Board, including the involvement of students in the discussion of possible changes.

Conditions for students with specific needs were viewed as largely positive, but the need for a rigorous administrative process on the part of students in applying for recognition of status was recalled. Comments in the area of mobility pointed in particular to the need to improve information on exchanges and to increase the availability of linguistically appropriate mobility opportunities.

Thank you to all students who participated in the study evaluation and provided feedback. We greatly value every opinion, whether it points out what works well or areas for improvement. We would also like to encourage students to provide specific situations or suggestions for solutions when critical comments are made. This is what will enable us to act effectively and achieve real improvements. If you do not know where to turn, the faculty page ("Need Help?") can be used to find help at various levels of the faculty or even the university.

We are pleased that a large number of students participated in the evaluation. We consider this to be a sign of interest in the functioning of the faculty and in the quality of education. We believe that by working together we can move our study programmes forward and create an even better environment for your personal and professional development.
