Vision of faculty development
In his speech during the public hearing, Assoc. Prof. Daniela Ondrejovič Chmelová thanked for the trust shown and presented the basic direction of the faculty for the next period. She emphasized that the faculty should continue to develop as a modern workplace that connects quality education, research and cooperation with practice.
„The Faculty is a community of students, teachers, researchers and non-teaching staff. My goal is to strengthen cooperation, open communication and mutual trust so that everyone feels a natural part of the academic community,“ said the candidate.
At the same time, she pointed out that the faculty stands on stable foundations and its ambition is not to implement fundamental changes, but to build on the previous development and continue systematic development.
Three pillars of development
The program theses of the dean are built on three basic pillars:
- education
- science and research
- social responsibility.
In the field of education, it plans to support the creation of new study programs that respond to the needs of practice, the development of interdisciplinary education, or greater involvement of students in the life of the faculty.
In science and research, the faculty wants to strengthen project activities, support young scientists, and increase the transfer of research results to practice.
The third pillar is the faculty's active role in society, for example through popularization events, cooperation with practice, or the involvement of graduates in the life of the faculty.
Faculty as a common space
At the end of her speech, she emphasized the importance of the cooperation of the entire academic community. According to her, the faculty is a common space, the direction of which is not created by an individual, but by a community of people.
"Every success of the faculty is the result of joint work. That is why it is important to build an environment in which we can support each other and perform as a whole," concluded Assoc. Daniela Ondrejovič Chmelová.
We heartily congratulate the newly elected dean and wish her much success in her further work and fulfilling the vision of the faculty's development.
