On June 23, 2026, Ing. Patrik Boršoš, PhD., DSc. from the Institute of Computer Technologies and Informatics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava participated in the SKAI Conference 2026, which is one of the most important Slovak professional events dedicated to artificial intelligence.

The conference brought many practical perspectives on the use of AI in business, public administration, research and education and created space for the exchange of experiences between representatives of the academic environment, public administration and technological companies.

Participation in the conference follows on from the activities of the UCM Faculty of Natural Sciences aimed at supporting the study of informatics, which is among the fields of study identified for a long time by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth SR as deficient.

The knowledge and current trends presented at the conference will be used in the further development of the faculty's educational activities and at the same time will be reflected in the upcoming workshops, professional lectures and other events organized as part of SmartLab UCM & Trnava.

The conference program offered numerous examples of the practical use of artificial intelligence. Among the topics presented were autonomous systems, humanoid robotics, the implementation of AI in the management of organizations, quantum technologies, the development of digital competences and the support of young talents. An important topic was also the need for systematic cooperation between universities, public administration and technological companies, which creates prerequisites for the development of quality research, innovations and the preparation of graduates for the changing demands of the labor market. At the same time, several presentations pointed out that the successful implementation of artificial intelligence is not only based on the technologies themselves, but above all on well-set processes, organizations' readiness for change and the development of digital competences.

Participation in the conference represents another step in developing the cooperation of the UCM Faculty of Natural Sciences with the professional community, public administration and technological partners. The knowledge gained will be used in the further development of study programs, SmartLab UCM activities

Ing. Patrik Boršoš, PhD., DSc. he also published a personal reflection from the conference on his profile on the LinkedIn social network, in which he summarizes the most interesting ideas of the individual lectures, his own observations from the discussions and reflects on the importance of connecting the academic environment, public administration and technological partners in the development of artificial intelligence.
