Excursion to Bellušov water reservoir

On April 7, 2025 anexcursionof UCM students and staff toBellušovwater reservoir took place . It is a landmark of Trnava from the direction of Hlohovec, designed by the architect Emil Belluš as an engineering work. It was built during World War II (1942-1946), with the beginning of its functionality in 1954 and is listed as a national cultural monument. The height of the reservoir is 50 meters, containing a cylindrical water tank, placed above 6 supporting columns, tied with reinforcedconcretegirders, a staircase, a lantern and other elements. The reservoir, with a capacity of 1200 cubic metres and a water level of 8 metres, supplies water to the town as well as to the surrounding villages. In addition to the reservoir, there are 3 wells, a gatehouse and the engineer's house in the reservoir area.
