In the courses, you will review and practice the curriculum that will help you:

• pass the initial tests,
• have solid ground under your feet right from the first semester,
• to get an edge over others.

Scope of instruction: 24 teaching hours (preparatory course in mathematics), or 16 lessons. hours (preparatory course in biology or preparatory course in chemistry)

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE COURSE

After sending the application, you will be contacted by a clerk of the study department and asked to pay the fee for the selected course before it starts.

FPV UCM reserves the right not to open a course with a lower number of registered students, in which case the fee will be refunded. If you do not attend, the course fee is not refunded.

FPV UCM has the right to change courses in justified cases (change of lecturer, change of classroom, transfer of lessons, etc.).

PREPARATORY COURSE IN MATHEMATICS

We recommend the course to full-time and part-time students of the Applied Informatics study program, but also to students of the Chemistry, Applied Biology study program and students of environmental protection and restoration.

THE BASIS

1. Linear equations and inequalities.
2. Quadratic equations and inequalities.
3. Set theory - operations over sets, cardinality of sets, power set.
4. Complex numbers - definition, trigonometric form of a complex number, product, quotient, and power of a complex number.
5. Basic elementary functions - definition field, field of values - linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, cyclometric functions.
6. Sequence, sequence limits, function limits.
7. Differential calculus - the derivative of a function of one real variable.

 

 PREPARATORY COURSE IN BIOLOGY

The course will bring revision and consolidation of basic knowledge of biology, an easier transition to the university pace and requirements, the opportunity to ask questions and practice problem areas, ahead of the start of the semester. We recommend the course not only to students of biology study programs, but also to students of biotechnology and environmental protection and restoration.

THE BASIS

1. Basics of calculations in biological disciplines (units of quantities, basic formulas and their use, calculation of dilution of solutions, expression and calculation of the content of system components)
2. Basics of cytology
3. Cell cycle - mitosis and meiosis
4. Basics of genetics and genetic calculations
5. Basics of Microbiology
6. Phylogeny and evolution

 

PREPARATORY COURSE IN CHEMISTRY

Do you want to start your studies without stress and with the certainty that you can handle even more demanding subjects?

This course is for you if you are not completely sure about the nomenclature of chemical compounds, the basic calculations you will need in laboratory exercises or seminars, as well as organic.

Thanks to it, you will avoid unnecessary mistakes, save time while learning and you will be able to focus on new knowledge instead of catching up on the basics. We recommend the course not only to students of the study programs Biology and Chemistry, or Applied Analytical Chemistry, but also to students of biotechnology and environmental protection and restoration.

THE BASIS

1. Nomenclature of inorganic substances. Atomic structure of substances.
2. Chemical bond and chemical structure.
3. Fundamentals of thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and chemical equilibrium.
4. Basic types of chemical reactions. Acid-base reactions. Redox reactions.
5. Basic chemical calculations - the amount of substance, the composition of solutions, calculations from chemical equations.
