Researchers from the FPV UCM rank among the top 2% of the world’s most cited researchers

 

The Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava has achieved significant success in the international scientific community. Two prominent members of the faculty were included in the prestigious global ranking World’s Top 2% Scientists (https://topscinet.com/), which is compiled annually by a team of experts from Stanford University in collaboration with the publisher Elsevier based on citation data from the Scopus database.

In the single-year data category, which evaluates the citation response for the observed year, Prof. Ing. Štefan Janeček, DrSc from the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology FPV UCM.

In the career-long data category, which reflects scientific contribution over the entire period of a scientific career, Prof. Ing. Štefan Janeček, DrSc. and Prof. Ing. Stanislav Miertuš, DrSc, both from the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology FPV UCM. 

This award represents a significant international recognition of long-term scientific work, publication activity and citation response of their research in the global scientific space.

The World's Top 2% Scientists ranking is one of the most recognized international bibliometric assessments of scientific excellence. It takes into account multiple indicators such as citation count, h-index, citation impact by authorship, and other complex scientometric parameters.

The placement of our colleagues in this ranking is not only a personal success of the award-winning scientists, but also a confirmation of the high quality of the scientific and research activities carried out at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the UCM in Trnava. At the same time, it significantly contributes to strengthening the international reputation of the faculty and the university.
