The Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava is expanding its partnerships with the technology sector.
By signing another memorandum of cooperation—this time with eSense—it is opening up new opportunities for joint research, development, and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence and its practical application in healthcare.
The main focus of the collaboration is the innovative AMBULANCIA.AI project, which offers a smart solution to streamline doctors’ administrative work. Using artificial intelligence technologies, it processes communication between doctors and patients and uses this data to generate draft medical records. The project aims to reduce the administrative burden on healthcare professionals, streamline the day-to-day operations of outpatient clinics, and free up more time for doctors to focus on what matters most—patient care.
The Institute of Computer Technologies and Informatics (ÚPTI) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences (FPV) of UCM will play a significant role in this new partnership by participating in professional and research activities related to the project’s further development. This collaboration creates opportunities to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and technological practice, to jointly seek innovative solutions, and to apply scientific knowledge in the development of intelligent systems.
Another important benefit of the partnership is the opportunity for students and doctoral candidates to participate in real-world technology projects. This gives them the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice, contribute to solving specific challenges, and develop professional competencies in the field of modern information technologies and artificial intelligence.
Ing. Maroš Môcik, co-founder of eSense, attended the ceremonial signing of the memorandum on behalf of the company. The faculty was represented at the meeting by Ing. Patrik Boršoš, PhD., DSc., Vice Dean for International Relations, Partnerships, and Doctoral Studies, who attended the meeting on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at UCM, and Assoc. Prof. RNDr. PaedDr. Ladislav Huraj, PhD., Head of the Department of Computer Technologies and Informatics.

The new partnership is another step in the FPV UCM’s efforts to systematically link education, science, and research with practical applications. The faculty thus continues to build cooperation with innovative companies and supports the development of technological solutions that have the potential to bring tangible benefits to society.
