Students attended a lecture on the properties of water
On 20 February 2025, students of the Bachelor's degree programme in Environmental Protection and Restoration attended an expert lecture on Selected Water Properties. The lecture took place at the centre of the civic association Water for Climate and was part of the Interreg VI-A Slovakia-Czech Republic project entitled Adaptation measures for water retention in agricultural landscapes.
The lecture was led by doc. Stanislav Hostin, who until recently worked at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. During his presentation, he introduced students to the key physical and chemical properties of water and their impact on ecosystems. He stressed the importance of sustainable management of water resources as well as adaptation measures that can help in mitigating the negative impacts of climate change on agricultural landscapes.
The students had the opportunity to discuss current challenges in the field of water conservation and to gain valuable knowledge that they can use in their further studies and practice.
