We are preparing the MikroTik Academy: A new opportunity for students to obtain the world-renowned MTCNA certification.
At the Faculty of Natural Sciences, we are intensively preparing the launch of the MikroTik academy, which will be available to students from the next academic year in connection with the elective subject Integration of services.
The goal is to expand the possibilities of practical teaching in the field of network technologies and to offer students an attractive form of education connected with practice. MikroTik is one of the leading manufacturers of network equipment and operating systems for network management. Its solutions - RouterBOARD and RouterOS - are widely used not only in smaller networks, but also in professional environments.
As part of the upcoming academy, students will gain hands-on experience in configuring routing, firewalls, NAT, VPN, VLAN, wireless networks, and designing complex network topologies. Part of the preparations included the professional training of future MikroTik instructors. The training took place in two parts – in May and June – and consisted of intensive full-day blocks ending with testing. It took five days in total and resulted in obtaining the necessary certifications to ensure quality teaching within the academy.
A great advantage for students will be the opportunity to obtain the internationally recognized MTCNA (MikroTik Certified Network Associate) certificate already during their studies. This certificate significantly increases their applicability on the job market and confirms practical skills in the management and configuration of computer networks.
By launching the MikroTik Academy, the faculty further strengthens the connection of teaching with the real requirements of practice and brings students modern educational opportunities in the field of information and communication technologies.
Participation in the event was carried out with the aim of promoting the study of computer science and increasing interest in the field of Informatics, which is included among the shortage fields supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Science of the Slovak Republic.
