Studying in the Environmental Protection and Restoration programme prepares you for work that makes a difference - protecting nature, solving environmental challenges and contributing to sustainable development. Graduates of this career-oriented programme are in demand in practice, as they know the latest approaches and technologies used in environmental protection.
As a graduate, you will have the skills to get a job:
- In environmental and remediation facilities dealing with water treatment, municipal and hazardous waste disposal, or decontamination of contaminated sites,
- in control and research institutions - e.g. Slovak Environmental Inspectorate, Public Health Office,
- in state and public administration - as an expert in environmental legislation and environmental informatics (e.g. at district and regional environmental offices, at the Environmental Fund),
- in consultancy firms - where they deal with environmental management, waste management and environmental impact assessment.
At the same time you will be prepared to:
- Adapt quickly to practice, work both independently and in a team, communicate professional proposals and solutions effectively,
- continue your studies at master's level and later at PhD level if you decide to pursue an academic or research pathway.
Examples of jobs that may be for you:
- Environmental officer in an industrial company (e.g. automotive plant),
- Waste management specialist,
- Operations Manager of a wastewater treatment plant,
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist,
- Independent specialist officer in the environmental department.
